On May 5, Chance Nolan Ziegler of Troop 4016 of Cape Girardeau completed the requirements and was certified as an Eagle Scout of the Boy Scouts of America.

Ziegler's project consisted of building a free-standing brick wall that rests upon a level excavated foundation of sand and gravel. A secondary project of building a cellar door was also underway.

Ziegler began Scouting in May 2008 after receiving his arrow of light and crossing over from Cub Scout Pack 4017. Since then he has achieved 72 merit badges.

Chance is the son of Walter and Linden (Mize) Ziegler. He is the grandson of the late Joe and Oneida (Daniel) Ziegler of Benton, Mo. The maternal grandparents are Kenneth and Carol Jean (Clark) Mize of Villa Ridge, Ill.

Ziegler attends Lynwood Baptist Church and is a freshman at Jackson High School. Outside of Scouting, Ziegler is a member of the Jackson freshman band and of Future Business Leaders of America.
