Scott County Sheriff's Department receives $5,500 grant

The Matthews Monsanto, a not-for-profit organization in Benton, Mo., nominated the Scott County Sheriff's Department Nov. 29 for a $5,500 grant to honor the dedication to the betterment of agriculture and protection of rural America. The sheriff's department will use the grant to purchase an in-patrol car video recording system that will help keep on-duty deputies safer on the job. Sheriff Rick Walter, far left, Lt. Cape Country Club members donate to SEMO Food Bank

Cape Girardeau Country Club Couples Night attendees awarded Southeast Missouri Food Bank $575, from the members' $5 entry fee, to provide 4,025 meals to hungry Southeast Missourians in need this holiday season. Southeast Missouri Food Bank serves 16 counties in Southeast Missouri. Monsanto Funds gives to Sikeston United Way
