Winners of patriotic photo contest announced

Winning photographs from the recent patriotic photo contest held by the Allen Laws Oliver chapter of the Sons of American Revolution will be on display at the Southeast Missouri Arts Council Gallery throughout October and at the Radiant Reflections Photography studio during the month of November.

The show was judged by Fred Lynch, staff photographer for the Southeast Missourian, and CoCo Reed, professional photographer and owner of Radiant Reflections Photography.

Tom Neumeyer was awarded best of show for his photo "Waving from the Porch."

In adult category one, Mark Trankle took first and third places; Kent Nelsonsecond; and Doug Adams and Scott Shivelbine received honorable mentions.

In adult category two, Kristen Respondek took first place and received an honorable mention; Kent Nelson, second; Diane Dickerson, third; and Neumeyer received an honorable mention.

In the youth category, Zachary Borowiak was awarded both first and second places and an honorable mention for his photos, and Taylor Shivelbine took third place and received an honorable mention.
