Kennett resident Cedric Wilbourn recently completed his military training to become a military policeman for Missouri National Guard's 1137th Military Police Company in Kennett, Mo. Wilbourn graduated from basic training and advanced individual training at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., in December. Before training, Wilbourn served with Company E of the Recruit Sustainment program in Cape Girardeau. Through the program, he learned basic Army skills and values and became more familiar with his role as a soldier in the Missouri Army National Guard. Wilbourn will begin serving with his new unit this month. Wilbourn is the son of Cedric Wilbourn of Caruthersville, Mo., and Angela Morrow, of Kennett, Mo., and is the father of a son, Payton. He is a 2010 graduate of Holcomb High School.
