* Lacy Jane Burnette of Advance, Mo., and Lacey Lynn Duckworth of Leopold, Mo., both won $2,000 MFA Foundation Scholarships. They plan to attend Southeast Missouri State University.

* The following Southeast Missouri State University students received ADDY awards honoring creative excellence in advertising at the annual ADDY Awards banquet: Brett Crow, Anthony Cervantes, Ryan Welch, Aya Takami, Samantha Powers, Clint Obermann, Tiffany Mead and Landon Hill.

* Heather Deisher of Cape Girardeau was named to the dean's list at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Va., for the winter 2012 term.

* Samuel Lowes of Jackson has been selected as one of 330 students to attend the 2012 Missouri Scholars Academy in June.

* Dustin Haupt of Cape Girardeau was awarded a doctor of dental surgery degree magna cum laude from Creighton University.

* Tri-State Advertising & Marketing Professionals is now accepting applications for the 2012 scholarship program, which will award three $500 scholarships for the fall 2012 academic year. Students from Southeast Missouri State University, Mineral Area College, Three Rivers College, Murray State University and Southern Illinois University at Carbondale are eligible to apply for the scholarships. Applicants must be pursuing a degree in marketing, advertising, public relations, mass communications, graphic design, radio/television production or a related field in an accredited program. They must also have at least a 3.0 grade-point average. The completed application and supplementary materials must be received by Aug. 3. Applications are available at www.tristateamp.com.
