Awards/Achievements and scholarships

The following students have been awarded Scholarships to attend Southeast Missouri State University for the 2013-2014 academic year:

* Evan Hughey of Anna, Ill., was awarded the Regents' Scholarship. He is the son of John and Kim Hughey of Anna and will graduate from Anna-Jonesboro Community High School in Anna.

* Carolyn Keagle of Glenallen, Mo., was awarded the Residence Life Leadership Award. She is the daughter of Joel and Carolyn Sawyers of Glenallen and will graduate from Woodland High School in Marble Hill, Mo.

* Shelbee Miller of Leopold, Mo., was awarded the University Scholarship. She is the daughter of Roberta Jansen of Leopold and will graduate from Leopold High School.

The following students earned honors at Missouri Baptist University in St. Louis for the fall 2012 semester

* Jon Morrow of Oran, Mo., was named to the honor roll.

* Brittany Hastings of Jackson received the president's citation.

* Kristopher Cook of Scott City was named to the dean's list.

Riehn awarded scholarship

Seth Riehn

Seth Riehn of Jackson has been awarded a President's Scholarship to attend Williams Baptist College in Walnut Ridge, Ark. He is the son of Kenn and Pamela Riehn of Jackson and will graduate from Jackson High School.

Schnurbusch receives certificate

Teagan Schnurbusch, a sophomore at Jackson High School, was awarded an Agribusiness Academy certificate by Missouri Director of Agriculture Dr. Jon Hagler at the 85th annual Missouri FFA convention. Schnurbush will attend Missouri Agribusiness Academy this summer.
