* Jennifer Peikert, sophomore theater major from Marble Hill, Missouri, received the Dramatics Award during the annual Honors Day Convocation on Tuesday at Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Missouri.
* The following Southeast Missouri State University students recently were initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines: Laura Booth, Lu He and Bethany Olson of Cape Girardeau; Connor King and Kristen Richardet of Jackson; Katelyn Brotherton of Marble Hill, Missouri; and Alex Amelunke of Chaffee, Missouri. Membership is by invitation and requires nomination and approval by a chapter.
* Alyssa Bollinger of Millersville received the Outstanding Graduate Student in Secondary Education Award during the 2014 Academic Honor Awards Assembly on Friday at Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri. Bollinger, a graduate student in education, is the daughter of Jeff and Dawn Bollinger.

Cape Girardeau
Emily Young was awarded the University Scholarship. Young is the daughter Patrick and Lynn Young of Cape Girardeau and will be a 2014 graduate of Notre Dame Regional High School. Nathan Lutes has been awarded the Governor's Scholarship. Lutes is the son of Tim and Tara Lutes of Cape Girardeau and will be a 2014 graduate of Central High School.
Jackson
Clara Snyder was awarded the University Scholarship. Snyder is the daughter of Dale R. and Judy Phillips Snyder of Jackson and will be a 2014 graduate of Jackson Senior High School.
Scott City
Mikayla Jackson was awarded the University Scholarship. Jackson is the daughter of Mandee Blue of Scott City and will be a 2014 graduate of Thomas W. Kelly High School.
Marble Hill
Lindsey Craft was awarded the Residence Life Leadership Award. Craft is the daughter of LeAnn Craft of Marble Hill, Missouri, and will be a 2014 graduate of Woodland High School.
Sikeston
Tiffany Gilman was awarded the University Scholarship. Gilman is the daughter of Robert and Denise Murphy and Kenny and Stephanie Gilman, all of Sikeston, Missouri, and will be a 2014 graduate of Sikeston Senior High School.
Anna
Jeffrey Goforth was awarded the Phi Theta Kappa and Midwest Achievement Award. Goforth is the son of Charles and Sherri Goforth of Anna, Illinois, and will be a 2014 graduate of Shawnee Community College. He was a 2012 graduate of Anna-Jonesboro High School.
* Ryan Below of Oak Ridge High School in Friedheim was awarded the Wildcap Scholarship, a four-year award, to attend Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Missouri. Below's anticipated major is criminal justice.
* Several local students graduated May 4 from the St. Louis College of Pharmacy: Megan Hodges of Cape Girardeau. She is the daughter of John P. and Linda H. Hodges. Hodges is a 2008 graduate of Notre Dame Regional High School. Kevin Niedbalski of Jackson. He is the son of Marvin and Janet Niedbalski. Niedbalski is a 2006 graduate of Jackson High School. Katelyn Stephens of Scott City. She is the daughter of Connie and Leo Enderle. Stephens is a 2008 graduate of Notre Dame Regional High School. Kyle Essner of Kelso, Missouri. He is the son of Jerome and Beverly Essner. Essner is a 2007 graduate of Notre Dame Regional High School. Danielle Ahlfield of Sikeston, Missouri. She is the daughter of Dan and Tina Ahlfield.
