The all-district Jackson art show "Art Expressions 2014" is set for Saturday and Sunday at the new R.O. Hawkins Junior High School gym. Hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and noon to 3 p.m. Sunday. The show will feature artwork by students in grades kindergarten through 12, demonstrations by guest artists and hands-on art centers.

Those selected are among approximately 32,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni initiated into Phi Kappa Phi each year, the release said. Membership is by invitation and requires nomination and approval by a chapter, the release said. Only the top 10 percent of seniors and 7.5 percent of juniors, having at least 72 semester hours, are eligible for membership, the release said.
* ROLLA, Mo. -- Keith LeGrand of Kelso, Mo., a senior in aerospace engineering at Missouri University of Science and Technology earned first place for "Initial Relative Orbit Determination Using Multiple LOS Measurements and Gaussian Mixture Models" at the 10th annual Undergraduate Research Conference. The conference featured oral and poster exhibitions that represented a large section of majors.

Cape Girardeau
Brooke Zoellner received the Residence Life Leadership Award. She is the daughter of Steven and Chasity Zoellner of Cape Girardeau and will be a 2014 graduate of Central High School. Anthony Rosati was awarded the President's Scholarship. He is the son of Ron Rosati of Curtis, Neb., and Jessica Rosati of Cape Girardeau and will be a 2014 graduate of Notre Dame Regional High School. Alexia New was awarded the University Scholarship. She is the daughter of Kenneth and Cynthia New of Cape Girardeau and will be a 2014 graduate of Notre Dame Regional High School.
Jackson
Caroline Tousignant received the Regents' Scholarship. She is the daughter of Joe and Tracy Tousignant of Jackson and will be a 2014 graduate of Jackson High School.
Chaffee
Daniel White was awarded the University Scholarship and Residence Life Leadership Award. He is the son of Danny White and Linda Slinkard of Chaffee and will be a 2014 graduate of Chaffee High School. Elizabeth Sexton received the Residence Life Leadership Award. She is the daughter of Bobby and Kathy Sexton of Chaffee and will be a 2014 graduate of Chaffee High School.
Marble Hill
Nathaniel Whitworth has been awarded the Regents' Scholarship. He is the son of Kelly Whitworth of Marble Hill and Jeff Whitworth of Scott City and will be a 2014 graduate of Woodland High School. Kacie Hampton has received the University Scholarship. She is the daughter of Chris and Aimee Hampton of Marble Hill and will be a 2014 graduate of Leopold High School.
Patton
Christopher Bollinger has received the University Scholarship. He is the son of Sam and Dana Bollinger of Patton and will be a 2014 graduate of Meadow Heights High School.
Oran
Kristy Holland has received the University Scholarship. She is the daughter of Charles and Monica Holland of Oran, Mo., and will be a 2014 graduate of Oran High School.
Zalma
Dakota Stilts has received the Residence Life Leadership Award. He is the son of Lloyd and Christa Stilts of Zalma, Mo., and will be a 2014 graduate of Greenville High School.
Charleston
Haley Thomas received the University Scholarship and Residence Life Leadership Award. She is the daughter of James and Daphne Thomas of Charleston and will be a 2014 graduate of Notre Dame Regional High School.
