* Jocelynn Burnett, daughter of James and Cheri Burnett of Advance, Mo., was awarded a Red and Black Scholarship in the amount of $500 per year to attend the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Mo. The scholarship is awarded to incoming UCM freshmen based upon their high school cumulative grade-point average and ACT composite score. Burnett will be a 2014 graduate of Advance High School.
* Alyssa Bollinger of Millersville was awarded the Holman Family Graduate Student Scholarship in the amount of $1,500 from the Truman State University Foundation for the 2014-2015 academic year. Bollinger is a graduate student at the university, which is in Kirksville, Mo.
* Sydney Messerli of Cape Girardeau was awarded an Oklahoma City University scholarship based on grade-point average, ACT/SAT test scores and major. The university awards departmental scholarships to freshman students who are admitted and enrolled in the Petree College of Arts and Science, Meinders School of Business or Kramer School of Nursing. Departmental scholarship amounts range from $2,000 to $10,000.
