Awards and achievements

Brittany Hastings of Jackson will present her senior voice recital at 3 p.m. April 13 in the recital hall of the Pillsbury Chapel and Dale Williams Fine Arts Center on Missouri Baptist University's main campus in St. Louis.

Honor roll

Nina Scheibe of Cape Girardeau earned honor roll distinction at the University of Kansas School of Music for the fall 2013 semester. She is the daughter of John and Erika Scheibe. The university is in Lawrence, Kansas.

Cape Girardeau

Kaitlyn Staggs has been awarded the Residence Life Leadership Award. Staggs is the daughter of Justin and Elizabeth Fornkohl and will be a 2014 graduate of Cape Girardeau Central High School. Samantha Easley was awarded the University Scholarship. Easley is the daughter of David and Kathy Easley will be a 2014 graduate of Notre Dame Regional High School.

Jackson

Tayler Malone was awarded the Residence Life Leadership Award. Malone is the daughter of David and Sherne Malone and will be a 2014 graduate of Jackson High School. Jordan Johns was awarded the University Scholarship and Residence Life Leadership Award. Johns is the daughter of Cleo and Joyce Johns and will be a 2014 graduate of Jackson High School. Jacob Monteith was awarded the University Scholarship. Monteith is the son of Jim and Kim Monteith of Jackson and will be a 2014 graduate of Jackson High School.

Oak Ridge

McKenzie Elam was awarded the Regents' Scholarship. Elam is the daughter of Michael and Michelle Elam and will be a 2014 graduate of Oak Ridge High School.

Friedheim

Jacob Hengl was awarded the University Scholarship. Hengl is the son of Charles and Melissa Hengl and will be a graduate of Oak Ridge High School.

Whitewater

Trever Glaus was awarded the University Scholarship. Glaus is the son of Keith and Diane Glaus and will be a 2014 graduate of Delta High School.

Chaffee, Mo.

Storm Estes was awarded the University Scholarship and Residence Life Leadership Award. Estes is the son of Carl and Laura Estes and will be a 2014 graduate of Chaffee High School.

Sikeston, Mo.

Sydney Helmes was awarded the University Scholarship and Residence Life Leadership Award. Helmes is the daughter of Clinton and Shelley Helms and will be a 2014 graduate of Charleston High School.

Frohna, Mo.

Rachel Petzoldt was awarded the Regents' Scholarship. Petzoldt is the daughter of Earl and Diane Petzoldt and will be a 2014 graduate of Saxony Lutheran High School.

* Jocelynn Burnett, daughter of James and Cheri Burnett of Advance, Mo., was awarded a Red and Black Scholarship in the amount of $500 per year to attend the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Mo. The scholarship is awarded to incoming UCM freshmen based upon their high school cumulative grade-point average and ACT composite score. Burnett will be a 2014 graduate of Advance High School.

* Alyssa Bollinger of Millersville was awarded the Holman Family Graduate Student Scholarship in the amount of $1,500 from the Truman State University Foundation for the 2014-2015 academic year. Bollinger is a graduate student at the university, which is in Kirksville, Mo.

* Sydney Messerli of Cape Girardeau was awarded an Oklahoma City University scholarship based on grade-point average, ACT/SAT test scores and major. The university awards departmental scholarships to freshman students who are admitted and enrolled in the Petree College of Arts and Science, Meinders School of Business or Kramer School of Nursing. Departmental scholarship amounts range from $2,000 to $10,000.
