Scott County Women in Agriculture scholarship

Scott County Women in Agriculture is offering a $750 scholarship to a 2013 high school graduate. To be eligible, the applicant or family must currently be involved in farming or agribusiness in Scott County. The applicant does not have to major in agribusiness. Brock Austin, a senior at Jackson High School, earned a gold cup award for his solo piano performance at the National Federation of Junior Music Clubs. Austin preformed his 12th consecutive superior rating. He is the son of Kenny and Martha Austin of Jackson.

Awards / achievements and scholarships

The following students have been awarded Scholarships to attend Southeast Missouri State University for the 2013-2014 academic year:

* Erin Owens of Jackson was been awarded the Community College Scholarship. Owens is the daughter of Daryl Owens and Sharon Owens, both of Jackson. She was a 2010 graduate of Oak Ridge High School and will graduate from Mineral Area College in Park Hills, Mo.

* Penny Robinson of Cape Girardeau was been awarded the Regents' Scholarship. She is the daughter of Dr. Bambi Robinson of Cape Girardeau, and will graduate from Cape Girardeau Central High School.
