The following local students have been awarded scholarships to attend Southeast Missouri State University for the 2013-2014 academic year:
* Nicholas Bollinger of Scott City was awarded the Regents' Scholarship. He is the son of Bobby and Megan Bollinger of Scott City and will graduate from Scott City High School.
* Madison Mohnsen of Cape Girardeau was awarded the University Scholarship and Residence Life Leadership Award. She is the daughter of Brian and Kerri Mohnsen of Cape Girardeau and will graduate from Cape Girardeau Central High School in Cape Girardeau.
* Nolan Weber of Jackson was awarded the University Scholarship and Residence Life Leadership Award. He is the son of Dean and Rachelle Weber of Jackson and will graduate from Jackson Senior High School.
* Timothy Jolly of Charleston, Mo., was awarded the Community College Scholarship. He is the son of Timothy and Valerie Jolly of Charleston. Jolly was a 2010 graduate of Charleston High School and a graduate of Three Rivers Community College in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
* Hunter Seyer of Oak Ridge was awarded the Regents' Scholarship. He is the son of James and Lisa Seyer of Oak Ridge and will graduate from Oak Ridge High School.
Tana Tetley of Scott City was named a good citizen by the Daughters of the American Revolution. Tetely was recognized for her dependability, service, leadership and patriotism. She is the daughter of Danny and Belinda Tetley and attends Scott City High School.
Brittany Hastings of Jackson performed with Missouri Baptist University -- St. Louis bell ensemble at the Missouri Music Educators Association annual conference. The music conference is the largest in the state. Hastings is a senior musical theater major.
Faisal Alharbi of Cape Girardeau, was named to fall 2012 dean's list at Wilkes University, in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. Alharbi maintained a grade-point average of 3.4 or higher and carried at least 12 semester hours.

Abbie Fisher of Scott City, Kacie Hill of Mcclure, Ill, Alyssa Buxton of Fredericktown, Mo., Amy Ennis of Cape Girardeau, Elizabeth Heise of Cape Girardeau, Elizabeth Kiblinger of Cape Girardeau, Kevin Dittlinger of Benton, Mo., Alex Davie of Chaffee, Mo., Jamie Brugger of Jackson, Taylor Dickerson of Jackson, Brianna Gray of Jackson, Lauren Seiler of Marble Hill, Mo., Amanda Lappe of Oak Ridge, Mo., Tara Johnson of Scott City, Cory Bunger of Whitewater, Mo.
Cody Kern of Benton, Mo., was named to the dean's list at William Woods University, in Fulton, Mo., for 2012 fall term. Kern maintained a minimum grade-point-average of 3.6.
Southeast Missouri State University will host FASFA Frenzy, 2 to 4 p.m. Feb. 17, in the Glenn Auditorium of Dempster Hall. FASFA Frenzy is a free statewide event in which financial aid experts assist high school students and their parents find financial aid for college by completing the 2013-2014 Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
