Jordan Reddin of Cape Girardeau was among 17 students at North Central Missouri College in Trenton, Mo., inducted into Phi Theta Kappa during ceremonies held Oct. 29. Phi Theta Kappa, the official honor society for students at two-year colleges, is the largest honor society in higher education. Reddin, an occupational therapy major, is a 2011 graduate of Notre Dame Regional High School and plans to continue his education at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, Mo.
Stephen Randal Miinch II, son of Patti Miinch and the late Steve Miinch, formerly of Cape Girardeau, received his doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in Kansas City, Mo. Miinch is a 2005 graduate of Cape Central High School and is now in a three-year internal medicine residency at Plaza Medical Center on Fort Worth, Texas.
Jennifer Leigh Miinch, daughter of Patti Miinch and the late Steve Miinch, formerly of Cape Girardeau, received her bachelor of science degree in biology from Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Mo. Miinch, a 2008 graduate of Meadow Heights High School, is now pursuing her master's degree in public health with a joint concentration in epidemiology and biosecurity and disaster preparedness at St. Louis University.
Brooke Baugher and Jenny Macke of Cape Girardeau have been appointed by Dr. Ken Dobbins, president of Southeast Missouri State University, to serve as presidential ambassadors at the university. Presidential ambassadors are student representatives who assist the president and his staff in greeting and assisting visiting guests and dignitaries, serving at presidential functions and promoting goodwill. Baugher, the daughter of Shelly Smith of Cape Girardeau, is a 2012 graduate of Cape Central High School and a sophomore at Southeast majoring in wildlife conservation. Macke, the daughter of Bruce and Deborah Schnurbusch of Jackson, is a 1999 graduate of Jackson High School and a junior at Southeast majoring in business and marketing education.
The following area students have been awarded scholarships to attend Southeast Missouri State University for the 2014-2015 academic year: Matthew Hayes and Michaila Noble of Cape Girardeau; Taylor McClard, Anna Miller, Brittany Rogers and Austin Stone of Jackson; Jordan Besher and Dora Brewington of Fredericktown, Mo.; Jade Rampley of Benton, Mo.; and Kayla Naile of Tamms, Ill.
