Local student part of production crew

Olivia Bradshaw, a senior at the University of Central Missouri, was part of the crew for the university's production of "A Thai Tale" that ran from Sept. 22 to 24. Bradshaw, daughter of Joseph Bradshaw and Diann Bradshaw-Ulmer of Scott City, was the sound designer for the production. Bradshaw was a 2010 graduate of Scott City High School. The University of Central Missouri is in Warrensburg, Mo.

Sprengel earns master's degree

Michael Sprengel of Cape Girardeau was awarded a master's degree in mechanical engineering at Purdue University during spring commencement exercises. Purdue University is in West Lafayette, Ind.

Perry graduates from law school

Christina Brooke Perry recently graduated from the St. Louis University School of Law. Perry attended the University of Missouri at St. Louis as an undergraduate, graduating magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree in English. Perry is a 2005 graduate of Jackson High School, and she is the daughter of Dr. Robert and Jane Perry.

Area graduates of Missouri S&T

More than 1,000 candidates received degrees from Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla, Mo., during commencement ceremonies in May. Area graduates who received bachelor's degrees were Jessie Y. Hahn of Cape Girardeau; Garion M. Lovig of Cape Girardeau; Garrett L. McMillan of Cape Girardeau; Brittany D. The following area students were awarded scholarships to attend Southeast Missouri State University for the 2013-2014 academic year: Andrew Yeakley of Cape Girardeau, a community college scholarship; Tanner Werner of Jackson, a community college scholarship; Michaela Haley of Sedgewickville, Mo., a community college scholarship; Katelyn Glodo of McClure, Ill., a Midwest achievement award; Brent Forck of Benton, Mo., a regent's scholarship; Justin Deen of Sikeston, Mo., a community college scholarship; Daniel Bollinger of Cape Girardeau, a dual enrollment scholarship; Ethan Gibbons, a scholarship; Michaela Penrod of Dongola, Ill., a Midwest achievement award-transfer; Erin Vargas, a university scholarship and education access program merit; Ashley Craver of McClure, Ill., a Midwest achievement award; Ashley Davie of Cape Girardeau, a community college scholarship; Andrew Miller of Cape Girardeau, a university scholarship; and Emma Steffens of Jackson, dual credit scholarship.

Student commended in merit scholarship program

Taylor Bock, a student at Oak Ridge High School in Oak Ridge, Mo., has been named as a commended student in the 2014 Mational Merit Scholarship Program. Bock will receive a letter of commendation from Oak Ridge High School and the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.
