The following students were awarded scholarships to attend Southeast Missouri State University for the 2013-2014 academic year:n April Kutak of McClure, Ill., was awarded the University Scholarship and Midwest Achievement Award. She is the daughter of Bob and Angie Kutak of McClure, and will graduate from Shawnee Senior High School in North Wolf Lake, Ill.

* Natalie Mueller of Jackson, was awarded the University Scholarship and Residence Life Leadership Award. She is the daughter of Kirk and Christie Mueller of Jackson, and will graduate from Saxony Lutheran High School.

* Scott Smith of Cape Girardeau, was awarded the University Scholarship. He is the son of Donnie Smith of Jackson, Mo., and Laura Seabaugh of Cape Girardeau, and will graduate from Saxony Lutheran High School.

Schafer makes dean's list.

* Eva Schafer of Cape Girardeau, made the dean's list at Butler University in Indianapolis, Ind., for the fall 2012-2013 semester. Schafer is an English writing major.

Johnson named to dean's list

* Elizabeth Faye Johnson of Fredericktown, Mo., made the dean's list at Culver-Stockton College, in Canton, Mo., for the fall 2012 semester. Johnson is a junior and business administration major.
