25th annual Bootheel Regional Judged Art Show
The 25th annual Bootheel Regional Judged Art Show is on display from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Sikeston Depot Museum in Sikeston, Mo.
Third Fort D Days scheduled
Civil War re-enactors will set up camp at Fort D, the historic Civil War earthworks fort dating back to 1861, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The fort is on Locust Street, off Sprigg Street in Cape Girardeau (four blocks south of Highway 74). Activities include infantry and artillery drill, a merchant tent, children's company drill, woodworking displays and interactive displays from the Ladies' Union Aid Society. Admission is free.
St. Maurus Parish holds breakfast
St. Maurus Parish is hosting a buffet-style breakfast with sausage, scrambled eggs, German fried potatoes, milk gravy, biscuits and homemade coffee cake, orange juice and coffee from 7:30 a.m. to noon at St. Maurus Parish, 10198 Route B in Biehle, Mo. The church is two miles south of I-55 from exit 123. Children younger than 6 eat free. For more information, call 573-788-2330.
Glenn House tours
Built in 1883 in a vernacular farmhouse style, the Glenn House was renovated during the 1890s. In 1900 an extensive renovation was undertaken to convert the style of the house to the thenpopular Queen Ann style. Tours are from 1 to 5 p.m. at 325 S. Spanish St. in Cape Girardeau. Jackson Senior Center hosts dinner
A chicken and dumplings dinner will benefit the Jackson Senior Center. Meals will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Jackson Senior Center, 2690 Traveler's Way. Cost for adults is $7.50; children younger 12 eat for $3.75. Carryouts will be available. Call 243-4241 for more information.
