Spring antique and collectible show
VFW Post 3838 and Ladies' Auxiliary are hosting their Spring Antique and Collectible Show from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the VFW Post 3838, 1049 N. Kingshighway, Cape Girardeau. There will be an early bird charge for shoppers arriving between 8 and 9 a.m. Breakfast and lunch will be available and a silent auction will also be held. Proceeds benefit local veterans and veterans' projects.
Chicken and dumpling and sausage dinner
St. Joseph's chicken and dumpling and sausage dinner, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at St. Joseph Parish, Apple Creek, Mo., includes an all-you-can-eat buffet with dressing, homemade pie and bread. There will be a country store. Matching funds by Western Catholic Union.
Spaghetti Dinner
The Abbey Road Christian Church Youth Group will be hosting a 5 to 6:30 p.m. spaghetti dinner to raise funds for their mission trip to Belize City, Belize at Abbey Road Christian Church. Salad, bread, drinks, dessert and spaghetti with your choice of marinara, meat or Alfredo sauce are on the menu.
St. Paul Lutheran dinner
An all-you-can-eat grilled-whole hog pork sausage dinner will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 223 W. Adams St., Jackson. There will be an all church ladies bazaar. Children under 6 eat free.
Hairspray
"Hairspray," a musical set in 1962, will be performed at 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. at the Bedell Performance Hall at the Southeast Missouri State University River Campus. The show is about whether a plus-size trendsetter in dance and fashion can vanquish a reigning princess, win the heart of heartthrob Link Larkin, and integrate a television show without denting her 'do.
