Birds on display at Heartland Classic Poultry Show

This annual show features entries of large fowl and bantam chickens, ducks, geese and turkeys from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at the Arena Building. The association expects about 1,000 entries with exhibitors from 10 or more states. Free admission. For information call Kirk Keene 618-833-9656.

Cape Civil War Roundtable meets

The Cape Civil War Roundtable meeting will have a presentation by club president Dub Suedekum titled "Are You Smarter than a Ninth Grader about the Civil War?" There will be discussion of Fort D Days, scheduled for May 1 to 3, and dues will be collected. The meeting starts at 2 p.m. at Hanover Lutheran Church, 2949 Perryville Road.
