Chicken dinner/quilt bingo in Ste. Genevieve

The St. Joseph Patrons Club is having its annual chicken dinner/quilt bingo event. The menu includes fried chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, liver dumplings, green beans, slaw, bread and dessert. The price will be reduced for children. Carryouts will be available. Call 573-883-5097 for more information. The dinner will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Joseph School, 11822 Zell Road in Ste. Help Girl Scouts in food drive

Girl Scout Troop No. 158 will be conducting a food drive to benefit Southeast Missouri Food Bank. People are encouraged to drop off nonperishable canned or boxed food items from 2 to 5 p.m. at Andy's Froxen Custard. Girl Scout cookies will also be available for sale.

Sikeston holds Civil War re-enactments

The Civil War Battle of Sand Ridge will be re-enacted at 1 p.m. in Sikeston, Mo. Activities begin with reveille, followed by breakfast and church. Civilians will be allowed to roam the camp from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Other events will be held at Sikeston Depot Museum, 116 W. Malone Ave. in Sikeston.
