Army National Guard Pfc. Angel C. Welker has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C. During the nine weeks of training, Welker studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values and physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat. She is the daughter of Rebeckah Miller of Gatesville, Texas, and granddaughter of Judy Talley of Jackson. Welker is a 2009 graduate of Gatesville High School.
