Some of you might have cracked an egg this morning, but did you know you can use a water bottle to separate the yolk from the white.
MATERIALS
* Uncooked egg
* Water bottle
INSTRUCTIONS
STEP 1: Crack the uncooked egg and place the contents onto a plate.
STEP 2: Squeeze the water bottle, place the opening of the water bottle close to the yolk of the egg, and then release the water bottle until the entire yolk is inside the water bottle.
STEP 3: Quickly hold the water bottle over a different plate and squeeze the water bottle so the yolk falls onto the plate.
EXPLANATION
You were able to separate the yolk from the rest of the egg due to suction. Suction is the flow of a fluid into an area of lower pressure. Also, the yolk does not tear due to the lack of friction between the yolk and the water bottle.
