Cozy log cabin in quiet secluded woods is beautiful on outside, luxurious on the inside
Nestled in the woods, just off the intersection of Highways W and Y outside Cape Girardeau, is County Road 603.
The second house on the right down this county road is a cabin made of pine logs that appears framed by a forest.
A few lavender flowers accent the wooden stairs leading up to the front door.
Right inside the front door, to the left, is the dining area. The floor is covered with wood parquet. To the left of the dining room is a deck that overlooks a densely wooded area.
A rustic island doubles as service area and counter space between kitchen and dining area. Doors open to inside storage space and the island has room for several chairs.
Light salmon-colored tile covers the island. Smaller tile of the same color covers the kitchen counters. The kitchen has a built-in dishwasher and a white electric stove. Cherry red accents in the kitchen continue in the main-floor bedroom.
This bedroom, behind the living room and to the right of the kitchen, gets plenty of light from a window offering a view of the woods.
Neutral frieze carpeting covers the floors in the main floor living area, the basement steps and the downstairs master bedroom. The main floor bedroom has neutral, light-colored Berber carpeting.
This home, located in Jackson School District, features an open combined kitchen and dining room with a vaulted ceiling.
The living room to the right of the entrance is separated from the kitchen and dining area by an open staircase that leads to the finished basement. The walls of the staircase and downstairs in the multipurpose room are khaki colored.
To the right at the bottom of the stairs, the master bedroom occupies about half of the full-sized basement. This room's walls are light blue.
To the left of the finished walk-out basement is a multipurpose room leading to a patio that offers another view of the wooded area.
This room has been functioning as an office, but could easily serve as a family room, recreation room, entertainment center, children's play area or sitting room. The flooring is off-white ceramic tile.
Downstairs, a full master bath features a Jacuzzi tub and a separate shower. On the walls beside the sink is white beadboard paneling that contrasts with the black towel bars, faucets and light fixtures over the mirror. There is neutral vinyl flooring in the master bathroom. There is a roomy linen closet and crown molding in the master bath.
Between a deep walk-in closet and the downstairs master bath is a utility area with a laundry room.
The home's walls are made of both pine log and drywall, and the interior is filled with light from plentiful windows, particularly in the area leading out to the deck upstairs and the patio downstairs.
There are ceiling fans in both bedrooms, living room, dining area and multipurpose room.
