The Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department has planned the first father/daughter dance for Saturday at the Arena Building.
Organizers plan to decorate with Disney princesses and characters like Hannah Montana for the "Disney Dreams" dance. Chris Eastridge with the department said they hung a disco ball and laid red carpet for the father and daughter couples.
There will be dinner, games, a DJ and photographs. Fifty couples have signed up to go so far.
"You always have dads going and doing sporting events, so it'll be interesting to see them come out to a dance," Eastridge said.
Fathers with daughters ages 3 to 13 can call 334-2523 for tickets and more information on the dance from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Saturday in the Arena Building.
