~ Cozy ranch-style home provides plenty of room for a family to unwind.

Neatly trimmed evergreens line the concrete front porch of this red brick and frame ranch home with forest green shutters.

Two trees with different berries grow near the house and drive.

One door from the carport leads to a shed and another to the main floor laundry room. This is only one of two laundry rooms. The other is in the finished basement.

Newly wall-papered, the kitchen is filled with recently painted white cabinets. The doors have angled handles with white and gold colored trim. Light-colored counter space lies on either side of the stainless steel double sink.

Around the corner, the new stove has a ceramic top. An island/bar along the hall beside the kitchen offers additional counter space.

Next to the kitchen is the dining room where a picture window faces the shaded backyard.

Rose and white custom window treatments and a chandelier contribute to the cozy ambiance of the dining room.

Floors of the dining room, living room and main floor bathroom have all been recently covered with neutral plush carpeting. Custom window treatments are featured in many rooms.

The main floor bathroom is trimmed with black and white ceramic tile, and the counter gives the appearance of marble. This bathroom contains a combination shower/bath and wooden cabinets. Directly across the hall from the bathroom is the white door to the coat closet.

Both main floor bedrooms have hardwood flooring and large closets with white sliding doors. In one bedroom the custom window treatments are pink and white with a green and pink floral border. In the other, the window treatments are green and white.

In front of the dining room is the elongated, carpeted living room. The picture window facing the front is framed by white and pink custom window treatments.

Directly inside the front door is a lowered foyer with parquet flooring. From there, a door opens to the steps that go down to the finished walk-out basement.

The basement features a newly plush carpeted family room with an outdoor wallpaper and border motif. A rustic stone exterior frames the gas fireplace.

A roomy full bathroom is available in the basement and a second work room/laundry room walks out to the backyard. In addition, the basement contains two "bonus rooms" with small windows that have both been used for bedrooms.

The spacious basement bathroom is newly papered and has lots of wooden cabinet space. A large square window provides a view of the shady backyard.

From the basement work room/laundry room a door opens to the private, level, shaded backyard. In it stands a wood swing that stays with the property. Viewing the forested subdivision through the trees gives the impression of a national park in the backyard.

Older shade trees and the quiet environment of this location are reminiscent of the country. However, this home is conveniently located between Lexington Avenue and Perryville Road in Cape Girardeau.
