Community partnership building to be dedicated Sunday

Dedication of The Bridge -- a community outreach partnership between La Croix United Methodist Church and New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church -- will begin at 2 p.m. Sept. 10 with a processional five-block walk from the corner of Jefferson and Henderson avenues in Cape Girardeau to The Bridge at 426 S. Frederick St. Choirs from area churches will perform at the event.

Churches in Daisy, Bollinger Co. hold homecoming services

  • The annual homecoming of the New Salem United Methodist Church in Daisy will begin at 8:45 a.m. Sept. 17. Entertainment will begin at 1 p.m.

* Little Whitewater Baptist Church will hold an Old Fashioned Homecoming Service at 10 a.m. Sept. 17. A covered dish dinner will begin at noon. The church is on Route JJ in Bollinger County.

Hobbs Chapel UMC schedules fall bazaar for Sept. 16

Hobbs Chapel United Methodist Church will hold a fall bazaar from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 16. Baked and canned goods, books, crafts, antiques and other collectibles will be for sale.

Blessing of animals to be celebrated at First Presbyterian

First Presbyterian Church in Jackson will hold a "blessing of our pets" service at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 16 at the church at 206 E. Washington St. Pets, leashed or kenneled, are invited to attend. The church will accept donations of pet food, cat litter, paper towels, hand sanitizer and other supplies for Safe Harbor no-kill animal shelter.

Sovereign Grace offers telephone access to worship services
