Dedication of The Bridge to begin with precessional walk

Dedication of The Bridge -- a community outreach partnership between La Croix United Methodist Church and New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church -- will begin at 2 p.m. Sept. 10 with a processional five-block walk from the corner of Jefferson and Henderson avenues in Cape Girardeau to The Bridge at 426 S. Frederick St. Choirs from area churches will perform at the event.

Lutheran Chorale begins second season in October

The Perry County Lutheran Chorale under the direction of Tyson Wunderlich has begun preparing for its 2006-2007 season performances following its inauguration last year. The Chorale is a group of singers from congregations of the Altenburg Circuit of The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod's Missouri District located in Altenburg, Crosstown, Farrar, Friedheim, Frohna, Longtown, New Wells, Perryville, Ste. Genevieve, and Uniontown. Performances that are already scheduled for this season include the Saxony Fall Festival in Frohna on Oct. 14, and an outdoor celebration of the historic Reformation and the anniversary of the Lutheran Heritage Center in Altenburg on Oct. 22. Tuesday

Oasis Club, for adults ages 55 and up from Christian Faith Fellowship, will meet at 6 p.m.at Delmonico's restaurant in Jackson.

The Centenary United Methodist women will meet at noon for a luncheon meeting in the family life center. A program will be given by the Rev. Jeff Long.

Wednesday
