Concert to benefit NASV planned Sunday

A fund-raiser concert for the Southeast Missouri chapter of the Network Against Sexual Violence will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at New McKendree United Methodist Church's South Campus on Highway 25 in Jackson. The concert will feature Restless Spirit and will include folk, pop and acoustic music. Admission is free. The event is part of an ongoing series of benefit concerts that the South Campus is holding for local charities. Light snacks and refreshments will be served, and child care provided.

Women's Missionary League to hold rally

The Altenburg zone Lutheran Women's Missionary League will hold its spring rally at Immanuel Lutheran Church beginning at 12:30 p.m. Sunday. Guest speaker will be Sue Hasselbring with Wycliffe Bible Translators.

Unitarian potluck planned for Sunday

The Unitarian Universalist fellowship will hold a potluck covered dish dinner at 5 p.m. Sunday in honor of its visiting guest and speaker, Dr. Daniel O'Connell, lead minister of the 600-member Eliot Unitarian Chapel in Kirkwood, Mo. The fellowship meets at the Johnson Faculty Center, 530 N. Pacific St., on the Southeast Missouri State University campus, and the service begins at 6 p.m. following the dinner. '50s Diner dinner theater at First General Baptist Church in Jackson, at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m., by the church youth group to help finance summer mission trips. Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children.

Sunday

A gaslight singing event at Apple Creek's old church, east of Pocahontas on County Road 532. Event begins at 7 p.m. and includes a variety of musical groups.
