Can donation up from last year Southeast Missourian The Cape West 14 Cine recently collected 33,107 cans of food at the "Cans Festival" and donated them to the Salvation Army for use in its food program. Last year, Cape West 14 Cine set a record of 23,784 cans collected. Guests who donated five or more cans of food were eligible to see any movie starting before 5 p.m. for free. A donation of an additional 10 or more cans enabled guests to receive a pass to come back another day...

Missouri Veterans Home receives donation
Southeast Missourian
The Cape Girardeau Council of Garden Clubs donated $500 to the Missouri Veterans Home to be used for Christmas for the residents.
