We got four students from Jackson High School, Notre Dame Regional High School and Central High School to fill out our (shortened) Oscar Quiz. Each student is represented by a different action figure.

SCHOOL NEWS

  • Kelly Parents as Teachers will meet at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 26 in the elementary library. The meeting will focus on wellness, such as when to get checkups, and activities for National Dental Health Month will be provided.
  • Kelly Elementary will hold an information session about kindergarten at 6:30 p.m. March 11 in the elementary gym. Upcoming kindergartners and parents will be able to take a bus ride, tour the school, learn expectations for kindergarten and receive a supply list. Kindergarten screenings will be held from 8:15 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 27 and 28 in the elementary library. Appointments can be made at the March 11 meeting or by calling 573-545-3541 after March 12. Parents should bring the child's immunization record, birth certificate, Social Security card and proof of address. To be eligible, children must turn 5 before Aug 1.
  • Nell Holcomb will enroll and screen kindergartners and screen 3- and 4-year-olds March 28 at the school, 6547 Highway 177. Call 334-3644 for a necessary appointment. Parents should bring the child's immunization record, birth certificate, Social Security card and proof of address. To be eligible for kindergarten, children must turn 5 before Aug 1.
  • Charter Communications is offering 10 college scholarships worth $1,000 each for Missouri and Illinois high school seniors. Applications can be obtained from high school guidance counselors. The deadline is March 14.
