Mike Smythe wins Emmy for ViewPoint

KFVS12 vice president and general manger Mike Smythe was presented the 2010 Emmy Award in the category of "Commentary/Editorial" for his ViewPoint segment. The Emmy was awarded at the annual National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences banquet held earlier this month in St. Louis. Smythe's ViewPoint segments run each week on KFVS12 and have been on the air since 2001. Before winning the 2010 Emmy, ViewPoint had been a finalist in Emmy competition in 2003 and 2004. The segment has also been honored by the Missouri and Illinois Broadcasters' Associations for best editorial competition.
