Cap America Inc. has awarded scholarships worth $1,675 through its College Assistance Program to three area students.
Carlee Gibson renewed her scholarship and will continue her education at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau. Gibson is the daughter of David Kelly.
Brooke Benz renewed her scholarship and will continue her education at Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri. Benz is the daughter of Kim Benz.
Chelsea Hastings renewed her scholarship and will continue her education at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Hastings is the daughter of Trae Hastings.
Blake Schlitt of the Oran, Missouri, FFA received a $5,000 B.R.I.D.G.E. Endowment scholarship from the National FFA Organization. Schlitt plans to use the funds to pursue a degree at Mississippi State University. The scholarship is one of 1,820 awarded through the National FFA Organization's scholarship program this year. Winners were selected based on their leadership, academic record, FFA and other school and community activities, supervised agricultural or work experience in agricultural education, and future goals.
