Pfc. Timothy Lester of Millersville recently completed his military training to become an infantryman for Missouri National Guard's Company C, 1/138th Infantry Regiment in Perryville, Mo. He graduated from basic training and advanced individual training at Fort Benning, Ga. Before training, Lester served with Company E of the Recruit Sustainment Program in Cape Girardeau. Through the program, he learned basic Army skills and values and became more familiar with his role as a soldier in the Missouri Army National Guard. Lester will begin serving with his new unit in January. Lester is the son of Adam and Vicki Swafford of Millersville. He is a 2009 graduate of Cape Girardeau Central High School and is a student Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau.
