The following students have been awarded scholarships to attend Southeast Missouri State University for the 2018-2019 academic year.

  • Abby Buchheit of Perryville, Missouri, has received the University Scholarship and Residence Life Leadership Award. Buchheit is the daughter of William and Suzanna Buchheit of Perryville, Missouri, and will be a 2018 graduate of St. Vincent de Paul High School.
  • Amanda Justis of Jackson has received the University Scholarship and Residence Life Leadership Award. Justis is the daughter of Eric and Marie Justis of Jackson and will be a 2018 graduate of Jackson High School.
  • Corie Pike of Jackson has received the Residence Life Leadership Award. Pike is the daughter of Chris and Staci Pike of Jackson and will be a 2018 graduate of Jackson High School.
  • Abigail Naeger of Perryville, Missouri, has received the Residence Life Leadership Award. Naeger is the daughter of Van and Julie Naeger of Perryville, Missouri, and will be a 2018 graduate of St. Vincent de Paul High School.

Zachary Sample, a student at Central High School in Cape Girardeau, received notification that he has been selected as a Finalist for the National Merit Scholarship, meaning he scored in the top 1 percent of scores worldwide on the PSAT.

Students at Central High School in Cape Girardeau recently placed in the Southeast Missouri State University Writing Achievement Awards.

Morgan Kluge won first place in essay, Mason Pobst won honorable mention in fiction, and Harley Sample and Leanne Alpers won Honorable Mention in poetry.

These placements ensure these students' works will be published in the SEMO anthology, and they will be invited to an awards banquet in April.
