Cape Girardeau Public Schools Foundation and Margaret and Rudy Jurgens have announced the creation of the Margaret Weiss Jurgens and Rudy Jurgens Scholarship. Together, Margaret and Rudy have made it a priority to support and recognize the need for an educated workforce. The scholarship will be offered through the Cape Girardeau Career and Technology Center. The recipient must be a degree-seeking student and live within a 50-mile radius of Cape Girardeau.
The 2016 edition of Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges includes several students from Murray State University. Chleo LeGrand of Cape Girardeau was selected to the year's edition of Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. LeGrand is the daughter of Mary and Steve LeGrand and plans to graduate with a degree in exercise science, pre-physical therapy in May.
Dr. Patricia (Gray) White will be recognized Dec. 9 for the successful completion of her doctoral program through the University of Missouri-Columbia. She is the daughter of John and Becki Gray of Jackson and a 2000 graduate of Jackson High School.
