Lauryn Nicole Leine will compete with 25 other girls in the National American Miss pageant next month at Disneyland in Anaheim, California.
Daughter of Daryl and Dawn Leine of Jackson, Lauryn, 11, is a sixth-grade student at St. Paul Lutheran School in Jackson.
She was a state finalist in the Missouri National American Miss pageant, held in June, competing with 169 girls in the preteen division in areas of personal introduction, formal wear, interview and community service. In the talent competition, Lauryn played two piano solos, "Amazing Grace" and "Beautiful Savior." She placed first in the photogenic category.
