Home's central location makes it one worth considering

The house at 2917 Park West Heights is surrounded by a bustling community, yet sits in a quiet cul-de-sac amid a shady yard.
Park West Heights is a little street off Gordonville Road, within sight of many of Cape Girardeau's primary attractions, such as health care centers, restaurants and retail stores.
And though this house seems to be in the midst of it all, there are surprises inside and out. The yard has the perfect combination of sun and shade, and a beautiful wrap-around deck on which to enjoy the outdoors.
Inside, the foyer has a wood parquet floor. The living room has nice hardwood floors and a homey brick fireplace as its centerpiece. Two large windows allow for plenty of natural light, and sage green wallpaper between the dining room and kitchen areas gives this open room a restful feeling.
French doors lead to a screened-in deck with a ceiling fan overhead. The nearby kitchen features white ceramic tile floors, oak cabinetry with antique brass pulls, and great kitchen amenities like a double stainless steel sink and two cabinets with leaded glass.
Other kitchen niceties include a smooth-top stainless steel range and a Jenn-Air grill and side-by-side refrigerator with indoor drink and ice dispenser. An informal dining area makes for a charming breakfast nook.
Charming cafe doors open from the kitchen to the laundry room and the two-car garage. A large, walk-in pantry just off the kitchen allows for plenty of storage space, and a half bath with oak cabinetry is certainly a convenience.
The master bedroom suite is decorated in beige tones. Large windows give a nice view of the deck and side yard.
The master bath includes a two-sink vanity, with each sink having its own mirror and cabinet space. Separate tub/shower and toilet areas are another plus, along with a large walk-in closet.
Upstairs, the home has a quaint bay window area at the landing between the stair levels, and an open walkway.
Also upstairs are three bedrooms, all generous in size and with plenty of natural light. One of the rooms has a large walk-in closet and a door to an unfinished attic storage area.
The upstairs bathroom has linoleum that mimics Italian tile, and an oak vanity area.
This home also has a finished basement with country blue plush carpeting and a charming patterned wallpaper, also in country blue. The highlight of the finished basement is a great bar area, beautifully paneled with rich wood. The space includes a wet bar, small refrigerator and plenty of behind-the-bar storage in the custom cabinets. Rich, cherry beadboard paneling gives this spot a particularly warm, elegant look.
Also downstairs is a full bathroom with a corner vanity. The bathroom has been tastefully decorated with brass and porcelain hardware in the sink, and tailored pinstriped wallpaper in tones of blue, red, green and cream. The bathroom includes a step-in shower.
An office is downstairs, though the space could easily be converted to other uses.
Two sets of sliding patio doors exit to the home's deck, which has been finished partially with aggregate cement, giving it an earthy look. Plenty of unfinished space is also available downstairs, including a garden tool area with sliding patio doors exiting to the back yard.
This home is currently listed at $294,900, and is available for viewing through Century 21 Ashland Real Estate, 334-0125.
