March is National Eye Donor Month

March was declared National Eye Donor Month in 1983. Last year, one eye bank organization reportedly helped almost 2,000 people regain their sight. Eye tissue donated to an eye bank after a person's death can, through transplant, help restore vision to those who have lost their sight. Missouri residents can become eye tissue donors by signing up for the state's Organ Donor Registry at www.missouriorgandonor.com.
