Wednesday

Flu shot clinic: 8:30 to 11 a.m. at the Moreley Baptist Church. The Scott County Health Center will administer shots for $15 unless covered by Medicare or Medicaid.

Our New Baby class: 6 to 7 p.m. in the Generations Center for toddlers and their parents. Discuss how the family will grow and change with the new baby. Learn about holding, feeding and diapering the baby using dolls for hands-on experience. Refreshments will be served, and class graduates receive diplomas for their participation. Medicare Advantage seminar: 11 a.m. at Chaffee Senior Center.

"Irritable bowel syndrome": 6:30 to 8 p.m. in meeting room 106 at Southeast Missouri Hospital. IBS is a problem with the way the intestines move waste out of the body. Asthma education program: 6:30 to 9 p.m. in the Generations Center. Topics include a medical description of asthma and what triggers it, medications, peak flow monitoring, managing asthma episodes and exercise-induced asthma. Participants are encouraged to bring flow meters, spacers and a list of their medications. Class size is limited and advance registration is required. Diabetes self-management support group: 1 to 2 p.m. at Southeast's Diabetes Center at 60 Doctors' Park, Suite 102. A Southeast Missouri Hospital pharmacist will present a program, "Update on New Medications and Insulin," to help sort it all out and answer questions. Also covers the causes and treatment options, including the minimally invasive "no stitch" endoscopic surgery technique.
