n Back Surgery: When Is It the Right Choice?: 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the Harrison Room at Southeast Missouri Hospital. Hear multiple options for those considering back surgery, including artificial disc replacement, non-hospitalization/Band-Aid microdiscectomy and other minimally invasive techniques. n Flu vaccines: 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Wellness Connection in West Park Mall. The vaccine will be administered only to those 18 years of age or older. Open to the public. There is a cost. Insurance billing is not available.
n Our new baby class: 6 to 7 p.m. at Wellness Connection in West Park Mall. For children ages 3 and 4, and their parents, this class helps families adjust to having a new baby. Youngsters learn about holding, feeding and diapering the baby using dolls for "hands-on" experience. To register, call 332-1587.
n Flu vaccine clinic: 7:30 to 10 a.m. at the Saint Francis Hospital Health and Wellness Center Conference Rooms. Flu vaccines will be available while supplies last. Call 331-5316 for more information. There is a fee. No appointment necessary.

n Understanding menopause: 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the Harrison Room. Discuss the symptoms of menopause, how it is sometimes diagnosed and treatment options. To register, call 332-1587.
n Understanding memory loss: 10 a.m. to noon at the Alzheimer's Association Southeast Missouri Office at 2411 Abbey Road. Program provides an overview of memory loss, dementia and Alzheimer's disease while including information about research, treatments and how to get a diagnosis.
n Infant care class: 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Saint Francis Medical Center. A caregiver's manual for parents, grandparents and other care providers with topics such as feeding, daily care, infant sleeping patterns and health and safety information. Call 877-231-2229 to register.
