"Ask your doctor" airs at 8 p.m. on channel 5. Guests are Drs. Joseph Miller and Gregg Hallmann, who will speak about prostate brachytherapy. The show is sponsored by Southeast Missouri Hospital and the Cape Girardeau County Area Medical Society.

Saturday

Childbirth preparation class from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Harrison Room at Southeast Missouri Hospital. Class is for expectant parents and covers birthing process, relaxation methods and information about Caesarean section deliveries. Call 651-5825 to register.

Main Street Fitness is sponsoring a "Run Around Town" partner walking/running event beginning at 9 a.m. During the event, two sets of partners will be sent out in 3 minute intervals to find clues from locations around Jackson. The total course is between 3 and 3.5 miles long. There is no charge for the event, but registration is necessary. Call 243-2211 for details.

Fall cancer symposium at Dempster Hall at Southeast Missouri State University. The symposium is an educational opportunity for doctors, nurses and other health-care providers. Registration is from 7 to 7:50 a.m., with programs throughout the day. Lunch is served at Southeast Missouri Hospital with a tour of the Regional Cancer Center afterwards. Memory screening from 9 to 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Freidheim. The screening is free through a grant from the Cape Girardeau County Senior Citizens' Services Fund Board. The screening can help identify mental changes related to Alzheimer's disease.

Parkinson's Support Group meets from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in the Franciscan Conference Room at St. Francis Medical Center. For information, call Desma Reno at 331-5871.
