Conference to cover HIV, flu

The annual primary care conference for advanced practice nurses will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 10 at the University Center of Southeast Missouri State University. Barb Bancroft, RN, MSN, PNP, will be the featured speaker. She will speak on infectious diseases, "the big four: HIV, hepatitis, herpes and SARS," and will give an update on the avian flu.

Other presentations that day will include "the obesity epidemic," "APN issues," "cost-effective prescribing for the indigent" and "attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (adults and children) with a magical twist."

The conference is presented by the Heartland Advanced Practice Nurse Network.
