Cape orthodontist elected MDA president

Dr. Shannon T. Kirchhoff, a Cape Girardeau orthodontist, has been elected president of the Missouri Dental Association. His official term began following the association's annual House of Delegates meeting Nov. 3 in Jefferson City. Kirchhoff served as a U.S. Army Medical Army Corp dental laboratory technician from 1972 through 1975. He graduated with a bachelor of science degree from Southeast Missouri State University in 1979 and received his doctor of dental surgery degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry in 1985. In 1988, he was awarded a certificate of graduate orthodontics from UMKC. Since then, he has been in private practice in Cape Girardeau. The House of Delegates is the supreme authority of the Missouri Dental Association and represents 2,200 dentists statewide.
