Grandma Alice's Best Ever Sugar Cookies
Kim Bramlett submitted this sugar cookie recipe, which was passed down to her from her grandmother and aunt.
2 cups butter
1 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 cup powder sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
Cream butter and sugars. Add vanilla and eggs. Sift dry ingredients together and add mix with above ingredients.
1 tsp. baking soda
4 cups flour
1 tsp. cream of tarter
1/4 tsp. salt
Refrigerate for approximately one hour. Roll 1/2 to 3/4 inch thickness. Cut with cookie cutters. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
Large bag of powdered sugar
1 tsp. white vanilla
1 tsp. almond flavoring
4 squirts of white karo syrup
Enough milk to make gravy like consistency
One could add food coloring. This icing dries hard for stacking.
