Poleys honored with Hero of Hope Award

Justin and Claire Poley, of East Prairie, Mo., were honored by the American Cancer Society with the 2013 Hero of Hope Award. The award recognizes cancer survivors and caregivers who have had exemplary involvement with Relay For Life, made significant contributions to cancer control, and made an impact in the lives of others. Justin was diagnosed with testicular cancer in 2010. Justin along with his caregiver and wife, Claire, relied on the American Cancer Society to help them. The Poleys sought help through cancer.org, which provided them with treatment options, and additional information about the cancer. "The Hero of Hope Award offers an exceedingly visible sign of one's courageous battle against cancer as well as inspires support and involvement in the programs offered by the Society," says Cynthia Dickson, of the American Cancer Society.
