Good deeds: Woman helps prepare youths for work, financial literacy

Jeanne Camden of Capaha Bank donates time with Junior Achievement and the United Way. Junior Achievement is the world's largest organization dedicated to educating students about work readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy through experiential, hands-on programs. Camden believes financial stability has a huge impact on the quality of life for families on a long-term basis and spends times with first- and second-graders helping them understand the difference between wants and needs. She said, "Children remember the things taught from week to week and it is so rewarding to have them repeat what you have taught them last week." Camden also supports the United Way of Southeast Missouri with payroll deductions and volunteers with the UW small business blitz by making phone calls to encourage business owners to support the campaign.
