A record 37,593 registered voters came to the polls Tuesday to cast their vote in the historic 2008 election. Joe Sherinski was at the Jackson American Legion to help. Sherinski and dozens of other volunteers and election judges worked from before sunrise to after sunset Tuesday, to help voters elect their choice for President and various state and local offices and representatives. Around noon Sherinski was emphatically welcoming voters into his line at the voting station. This year was the first time Sherinski has volunteered at a precinct.
