When Courtney Penzel turned 9, she asked for coloring books and crayons from guests at her birthday party, held July 5. The books and crayons were presented to the staff at the Saint Francis Children's Center on Tuesday July 7. Courtney is the daughter of Chris and Chastity Penzel. Her mother, Chastity, said this is the first year her daughter has come up with the idea. She said Courtney thought of the idea after waiting in the waiting area of the hospital with nothing to do. She thought it would be a great idea to have something fun to do that would take the children's mind off their sickness. Courtney has never been admitted to the hospital herself, but thinks of others her age who are sick and have to be admitted to the hospital. Approximately 75 sets of coloring books and crayon boxes for children and their siblings were donated. Pictured are from left to right: Donna Reeder, Roberta Terry, Courtney Penzel and Meghan Buhs.
