Jhan Snyder knows about the stress that comes with working at the Humane Society of Southeast Missouri. She was a manager there from 1994 to 1997. Snyder believes the animal lovers that work and volunteer at the Humane Society do it because they enjoy caring for the animals and can become attached to each one. Major stress for these caregivers can develop when those same animals are euthanized. To relieve the stress current volunteers and workers may have, Snyder offered free massages to them and will continue to do so at the massage firm she plans to open. "If I can make their life a little better so they can give those animals the love they need, that's how I want to help," Snyder said.
