Elsie Harris, 7, of Cape Girardeau recently decided to have 10 inches of her hair cut so it could be donated to Locks of Love. Earlier this month, Harris reminded her mom of her desire because she wanted to help out children in need. Elsie said she wanted to do it ever since her bigger sister, Emily, did it a couple years ago. Elsie's mother, Melissa, said her daughter likes the new, shorter hairdo. According to its website, Locks of Love is a public not-for-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis.
