Hispanic women's health fair set

Saint Francis Medical Center, in collaboration with St. Vincent de Paul Parish, will host a Hispanic Women's Health Fair, "Atenci--n a la mujer health fair 2015: It is time to take care of ourselves," from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the St. Vincent Grade School gymnasium, 1912 Ritter Drive in Cape Girardeau. The free event will follow the Spanish Mass. Women may bring husbands and children and stay for a few minutes or for the whole event. The fair will provide information about natural family planning options, mammograms, maternity services, pediatric care and more. A number of Spanish-speaking medical professionals will be present. Duck Regatta benefit set Saturday

Cape West Rotary will host a Duck Regatta from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Cape Splash. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Special Olympics and the backpack program in Cape Girardeau and Jackson. The cost of a duck is $5 or six for $25. Three races are planned -- an adult race for those 13 years old and older, a corporate race and a race for children ages 12 and younger. St. Joseph Parish dinner scheduled Sept. 27

St. Joseph Catholic Church in Advance, Missouri, will hold its parish dinner from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sept. 27 at the parish center, 33921 Highway 91. The menu will include fried chicken, kettle-cooked beef, chicken and dumplings, homemade bread and desserts. The cost is $9 for adults and $4 for children.

Mayfield family reunion set Saturday

Descendants of George and Sara Mayfield will hold a reunion from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Delmonico's Restaurant in Jackson.

Cape class of 1950 schedules reunion

The Cape Central High School class of 1950 will celebrate the 65th anniversary of its graduation with a luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 27 at Isle Casino Cape Girardeau. More information is available by calling (573) 334-5678.

Tilsit church plans supper

Immanuel Lutheran Church, 496 Route F in Jackson, aka Tilsit, will host a supper of kettle-cooked beef, chicken and dumplings and ham, along with a country store at 3:30 p.m. Sept. 27. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 6 through 12. Carryouts will be available. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Amen Center near Delta. Cape to participate in Photo Walk

The Worldwide Photo Walk will take place from 8 to 11 a.m. Oct. 3 in 1,200 cities, including Cape Girardeau. Participants are asked to meet at the flood wall in the South Main Street parking lot. The walk will encompass the area from William Street to Broadway and from the Common Pleas Courthouse to the Mississippi Riverfront. All photos must be taken in this area during this time frame. There is no fee to participate, but preregistration is required. Lutheran Heritage Center to mark anniversary

The Lutheran Heritage Center & Museum in Altenburg will celebrate its 10th anniversary at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4. The museum will be dedicating the Starzinger Family Research Library Room. Refreshments will be served.

Familysearch workshop set Oct. 17

The Perry County Historical Society will host a Familysearch workshop from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 17 at the Perryville Higher Education Center, 108 S. Progress Drive in Perryville, Missouri. Certified genealogist Pat Stamm will lead the workshop, which will cost $7 for nonmembers and $5 for members; lunch will be included. Seating is limited; preregistration is recommended. Historical Society to host banquet

The Cape Girardeau County Historical Society will host a banquet Oct. 24 at Ray's of Kelso Plaza Banquet Center, 3257 William St. in Cape Girardeau. Cocktails and a silent auction will begin at 6 p.m., with dinner at 7 p.m. Dr. Frank Nickell, retired Southeast Missouri State University history professor, will speak, and Barefoot on Sunday will entertain. Tickets are $30 for society members and $35 for nonmembers, which includes a one-year membership. Tickets are available at the Cape Girardeau County History Center, 102 S.
