Hospice volunteers sought

The Lutheran Home Hospice is seeking individuals to help support terminally ill patients and their families. A comprehensive training program in issues surrounding death and dying and the caregiving experience will be provided. Individual volunteer areas of interest and availability are taken into account in the program. More information is available by calling 573-334-1515.

Church offers vacation Bible school

Mount Auburn Christian Church will host vacation Bible school from July 19 through July 22 with the theme "Everest: Conquering Challenges with God's Mighty Power." Events begin with a carnival from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday with free food and games. From Monday through Wednesday, 5:30 to 8 p.m., activities include a free meal and games for those ages 3 through 12th grade. United Way leadership luncheon set

United Way of Southeast Missouri will host its annual leadership luncheon from noon to 1 p.m. July 23 at Farraddays inside Isle Casino Cape Girardeau. The agenda includes a discussion of the coming campaign and recognition of leaders and workplace campaign coordinators. Bob Dixon, director of the Southeast Missouri Division of Ameren Missouri, will speak.
